✦ Synopsis

Abstract

In this article, a small triple band monopole antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented. The proposed antenna has been developed for IEEE802.11 wireless local area network applications in three service bands of 2.4–2.48, 5.15–5.35, and 5.725–5.825 GHz. The small monopole has compact dimensions of 14‐mm height and 26‐mm width. Fed by CPW, it can be integrated with other communication devices easily. The designed antenna is simulated by HFSS software and a good agreement with experimental results is demonstrated. The three operated bandwidths are about 20%, 8%, and 7%.
