Abstract
A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)βfed monopole antenna is proposed for dualβband wireless local area network (WLAN) applications. The proposed antenna, which consists of a meander strip and a Lβshaped strip, has compact size of 20 mm Γ 17 mm Γ 1.6 mm including the ground. The impedance bandwidth with 10 dB return loss is about 330 MHz (2.3β2.63 GHz) for 2.4 GHz band and 950 MHz (4.93β5.88 GHz) for 5 GHz band. The measured peak gains are 1.7 dBi at lower and 2.8 dBi at higher band, respectively. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
