โฆ Synopsis
Although positional lsomerizatlon of olefins is well studied and skeletal lsomerizatlon of strained hydrocarbons is receiving much current attention,2 there have been few reports of skeletal lsomerizatlon of unstrained ole-Pins by homogeneous catalysts. One of the most interesting examples Is the isomerization of u-l,&hexadlene (l_) to trans-2-methyl-1,3-pentadlene (5) catalyzed by a mixture of (n-Bu3 P)2NlC12 and (i+_~)~AlCl.~~ The reports of this reaction M.
