Application of the electron nuclear dynamics END theory to the H q HOD reaction for the reactants in their ground state is reported. A very small electronic basis is used to study the behavior of the equations of motion for this case. The results show cross sections to be too large in comparisons to

โฆ Synopsis
We show that strong light with the frequency slightly less then the 'gap' in electron spectrum of fused quartz cuts off macroscopic balls with fixed diameter 2 ยฑ 0.2 lm and throws them out of the ablation crater. The reason for the phenomenon is the light driven electron bunching and generation of strong static electric field on the bunch boundaries resulting in effective photon absorption and bonds breaking in these regions while the main part of a sample is almost transparent for the photons.

The OH/OD bond breaking selectivity in HOD photodissociation is studied on the first excited state using a quantum-mechanical time-dependent technique. A simple two-photon scheme is presented to produce pure OD t H. The first photon prepares vibrationally excited HOD; the second, a UV photon, excite
