Abstract
Novel compact circular polarization (CP) designs of a singleβfeed triangular microstrip antenna with a triangular slot or an inverted triangular slot are proposed and experimentally studied. For the design with a triangular slot, CP operation can easily be achieved by inserting a slit with a length about 24% of the slot's side length at the center of the inner bottom edge of the patch. As for the design with an inverted triangular slot, the insertion of a slit with a length about 12% of the slot's side length can result in CP radiation. Results also indicate that with the triangular slot embedded in the patch, the proposed CP design can have an antenna size reduction of about 30% as compared to the regularβsize CP design using a simple triangular patch. ## Abstract Compact circularly polarized single feed microstrip antenna using fractal curve as boundary is presented. It is shown that by using fractal curve as boundary to the square patch the size can be reduced by more than 50% without much reduction in gain of the antenna. The antenna gives a g
A circularly polarized antenna, realized in a low-cost technology with an integrated feed, is presented for the land-mobile satellite seruice. This antenna presents large bandwidth, high gain, and good axial ratio in all frequency ranges.
No¨el design of a dual-frequency triangular microstrip antenna with a V-shaped slot is proposed and experimentally studied. By selecting suitable dimensions of the V-shaped slot, dual-frequency operation with the frequency ratio ranging from 1.488 to 1.834 has been obtained using a single probe feed
A new design of a reduced-size triangular microstrip antenna fed using an inset microstrip line is presented. The antenna size reduction is achie¨ed by loading a chip resistor at the triangle tip of the patch. With an increasing resistance of the loaded chip resistor, the antenna bandwidth is signif
