✦ Synopsis


The hfs and quadrupole tensors of the nitrogen ligands of N,N'-ethylenebis(acetylacetonathninato)Co (II) diluted in a single crystal of the corresponding nickel complex have been determined by electron nuclear double resonance. Weak .x m N = 2 transitions turned out to be useful for the assignment of the spectra. The hfs data support the ground state I vz. 2A2~ which is proposed for four-coordinated low-spin Schiff base complexes of cobalt (II).
