✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A simple model, based on kinetic studies, is shown to be capable of describing the transient state of an ultrafiltration membrane reactor (UFMR) for the continuous resolution of DL‐valine. The reactor has been modelled as a perfectly mixed tank reactor. The model has been validated in different conditions (five different flow rates and three feeding concentrations) using the asymmetrical hydrolysis of N‐acetyl‐DL‐valine catalysed by L‐aminoacylase as experimental system, with an overall mean error of 4.08%.
