## Abstract Three prototype anthropomorphic breast phantoms are discussed. The phantoms were constructed using ultrasonically tissue‐mimicking materials; these materials mimic various tissue parenchymae in terms of attenuation, speed of sound, density, and scatter level. Realistic artifacts related
