as efficient as longer treatment in inhibition of IL-2 production. Moreover, the sample-washing step greatly increases the sample volume applicable to target cells, giving more chances for discovering new inhibitors of IL-2 production. In addition, since EL4 cells were known to express other cytokine genes as well as IL-2, the system developed in this study could be very useful for the selection of inhibitors of these cytokine proteins.
