reforming catalysts that are sufficiently active with good long-term stability in the presence of sulfur in E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) or E95 (95% ethanol, 5% gasoline) fuels.

The company's Microlith catalytic reactors have already been demonstrated for use in catalytic partial oxidation (CPOX) and autothermal reforming (ATR), and are being developed for logistics fuel reforming in, among others, SBIR programs funded by the Department of Defense. This new program will build on these existing ones to address the requirements of reforming an ethanol-based fuel that contains sulfur.
