Reactions that are relevant to the cleavage, by hydrazinolysis, of O-linked oligosaccharides from glycoproteins were studied using dehydroalanine derivatives as models of the intermediates formed from O-glycosylated serine residues. Conjugate addition of hydrazine followed by cyclisation to form pyr
