Abstract
In this paper, we employ the hybrid finite differenceβmoment method to predict the shielding effectiveness (SE) of a metallic enclosure with multiple apertures. The numerical results for various aperture configurations using the hybrid technique are presented and validated. It is found that a good practice to improve the shielding effectiveness of metallic enclosures is to divide a large aperture into several smaller ones. Β© 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract Electrostatic discharge (ESD) on the metallic enclosure of electronic products normally generates unwanted radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI). The radiated EMI penetrates through the apertures on the enclosure and then couples to the circuitries inside the enclosure. This may c
