The chemical compositions of essential oils of some Piper species were determined by capillary GC and capillary GCΒ±MS. Elemol (11.5%) constituted the most abundant component of Piper nigrum leaf oil, b-Caryophyllene (13%) was the major constituent of P. attenuatum leaf oil, whereas b-cubebene (10%)
