✦ Synopsis
Crystalline esters cf alcol~& were prepared by means of N,N-dimethyl-$-aminobenzeneazobenzoyl chloride as reagent, and suitable conditions were found for the separation of these esters by means of paper ancl thin-layer chromatography.
A detection reagent can be dispensed with as N,N-dimethyl-p-aminobenzeneazobenzoates are highly coloured substances. Less than 0.5 ,.~g can be determined in a spot.
