✦ Synopsis
This article describes a new method for the determination of ultra trace levels of 12 N-methylcarbamates in drinking water via micellar electrokinetic Ž . chromatography MEKC . Two steps were employed to enhance the detection sensitivity. The sample was first preconcentrated by C bonded SPE cartridge and 18 then further enriched through on-column stacking. With this two-step enrichment procedure, the method permits separation and UV detection of N-methylcarbamates at the 0.1-ppb level. This new alternative for the determination of carbamates in drinking water is convenient and fast and consumes practically no organic solvent.
