✦ Synopsis

A room-temperature flow uqectlon-spectrofluonmetnc method IS presented for the detennmatlon of Al(III), based on the use of Enochrome Red B m the presence of H@TA+-HMTA (HMTA = hexamethylenetetramme) or HOAc-OAc-buffer Various chemical and physlcal vanables affectmg the reaction m the flow system were evaluated The proposed method is very sensltwe, wth a detectlon lumt of 0 3 ng ml-' and a preaslon at the 20 ng ml-' level of 2 5% The cahbratlon range IS hnear up to 1 pg ml-' The method has been successfully apphed to the detennmatlon of Al(III) m tap and mmeral waters

Optimum conditions for the adaptation of the spectrophotometric pyrocatechol violet method for aluminium to a flow-injection system are described. The detection limit is 3 pg Al 1-l and calibration graphs are linear up to 3 or 10 mg 1-l (with 2OOql or lo-r1 injection loops, respectively). The relati
