The dynamic analysis of paper making, polymer extrusion and similar web (also known as sheet) forming processes is treated in a number of di!erent ways in the literature. However, fundamental modelling arguments lead to contol paradigms based upon two-dimensional (2-D) dynamical systems and orthogon

K. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Brunel University, London in 1978 and his Ph.D. from Cambridge University, U.K. in 1982. His main interests lie in the design of high performance servo mechanisms with applications to robotics. Much of his work is aimed at remote operations by tele-manipulators and is currently working on high fidelity force reflection systems. Dr Daniel is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Mechatronics, published by Pergamon Press.

The self-tuning property of the reduced variance overparametrized pole-assignment self-tuning regulator is shown to imply partial system identifiability. The specified closed-loop poles for pole assignment occur asymptotically but the asymptotic closed-loop zero locations generally differ from those
This paper addresses certain functional learning tasks in signal processing using familiar algorithms and analytical tools of least squares for autoregressive moving average exogenous input (ARMAX) models. the models can be viewed as conventional ARMAX models but with parameters dependent on variabl
## Abstract Herein, are reported studies of various experimental conditions aimed at optimizing the AerosolโAssisted Vapor Phase Synthesis (AAVS) of GaN powders. In general, the process utilizes affordable oxygenโbearing gallium precursors in aqueous/methanol solutions to initially prepare nanoโsiz
