✦ Synopsis
The self-broadening coefficients and the linestrengths of 30 lines in the n 2 and n 5 fundamental bands of CH 3 F have been measured at high resolution in the range 1417-1553 cm 01 , using a tunable diode-laser spectrometer. The lineshape parameters were obtained by fitting noncorrelated Galatry and Rautian profiles to the measured shapes of the lines. Both models show good agreement between the self-broadening coefficients derived from the spectra at ''low'' pressure (0.4 to 3 mbar) and those recorded at ''high'' pressure (6 to 18 mbar), but feature an overestimation of the dynamical friction parameter. A semiclassical calculation of the self-broadening coefficients, performed by using the main electrostatic interactions only, has provided larger results than the experimental data.

The collisional line broadening of H 2 S transitions in the n 1 and n 3 bands was measured with H 2 S itself and with air as perturbers by applying a diode laser spectrometer in pulsed mode. Altogether 17 lines from the R-branch of the n 1 band (3 £ J Љ £ 17, 0 £ K Љ a £ 6) and 5 lines from the R-br
branches of the n 5 perpendicular band, using a tunable diode-laser spectrometer. The lines with J values ranging from 3 to 27, and K from 0 to 6 (K £ J), are located in the spectral range 1416-1553 cm 01 . The collisional widths obtained by fitting Rautian profiles to the measured shape of the line

The absolute strengths of 93 lines belonging to the nu2 and nu5 bands of methyl fluoride were measured in the range of 1416-1503 cm-1 using a tunable diode-laser (TDL) spectrometer. These experimental line intensities were obtained from the equivalent width method. The intensities were analyzed with
