✦ Synopsis
branches of the n 5 perpendicular band, using a tunable diode-laser spectrometer. The lines with J values ranging from 3 to 27, and K from 0 to 6 (K £ J), are located in the spectral range 1416-1553 cm 01 . The collisional widths obtained by fitting Rautian profiles to the measured shape of the lines are slightly larger than those derived from Voigt profiles. A semiclassical calculation of the N 2 -broadening coefficients has provided results that are generally in satisfactory agreement with our experimental data.
