โœฆ Synopsis

Ionization potentials for double ionization of silver and gold clusters Me,, ( 15 < n 4 43) were measured by the electron impact method. The experimentally determined values are much higher than predicted by the metallic droplet model. High absolute values of ionization potentials are explained in terms of an ionization mechanism which involves d electrons.
