โฆ Synopsis
Burgmann Industries GmbH & Co KG, Germany
A method and a device are disclosed for determining the current operating conditions of a mechanical face seal. Measurements of the heat flow are taken between at least two selected measurement points M1, M2, M3, M4 on the stationary seal ring. By evaluation of the temperature gradient and overall temperature it is possible to discern changes to the operating conditions such as dry running or a change in product temperature. Example temperature gradients are illustrated.
