โœฆ Synopsis

Greene, Tweed has introduced a new perfluoroelastomer that is said to have a wider application range than other commercially available elastomers.

The new seal material is aimed at the chemical process and refining industries, to provide increased service life across a wider range of applications. Chemraz 555 can be used at up to 316ยฐC (600ยฐF), and offers a lower compression set than many other perfluoroelastomer materials. It is able to handle a variety of aggressive media, from acids, caustics and aldehydes to hot water, steam amines and methanol, in a range of temperatures and pressures, providing the potential to specify one elastomer material across many applications. It is considered to be particularly suitable where a robust seal is required for mechanical seals, pump housings, compressors and mixers.
