C.B-17 scid/scid mice are born with severe combined immunodeficiency. This defect in the maturation of T and B cells has provided a novel experimental system in which to study normal lymphoid differentiation and function in mouse and man.

Neuroblastoma (NB), a neural crest derived tumor in children, shows a characteristic pattern of dissemination that includes adrenal glands, local lymph nodes, bone, liver, skin, and bone marrow. We have reconstructed a similar metastatic pattern in SCID mice following tail vein injection of human NB
