โœฆ Synopsis

Acoustic scale modelling is used to study sound propagation in a city street canyon. The acoustic performance of several noise abatement schemes is investigated at various receiver heights for noise ยฎelds produced by dierent categories of vehicles travelling in the two lanes. The results are discussed in terms of the attenuation rate predicted along the canyon and the insertion loss. It is shown that although the eects produced by complex noise abatement schemes are signiยฎcant they cannot be predicted by simple addition of the eects from the individual components of the schemes.
