High-resolution spectra of the £ Å 6, 7, and 8 stretching overtones of gaseous 70 GeHD 3 have been recorded by intracavity laser absorption spectroscopy. The spectra have been analyzed as symmetric-top parallel bands. In all, 167 lines of the £ Å 6 band, 115 lines of the £ Å 7 band, and 96 lines of

✦ Synopsis
The £( GeH) Å 6, 7, and 8 overtones of monoisotopic H 3 70 GeD have been studied by ICLAS with effective optical path lengths between 9 and 40.8 km at a resolution of ca. 0.05 cm 01 . Rotational structure was resolved and assigned (in the local mode notation) to the (600), 11 649.77 cm 01 , (700), 13 353.72 cm 01 , and (800), 14 985.25 cm 01 , levels. The observed transitions were fitted to a local mode model with five refined parameters. No Coriolis effects were revealed, and local mode constraints between the off-diagonal and most of the diagonal matrix elements were used. The rms deviation of the fits was ca. 0.04 cm 01 , with some obviously perturbed high J and K levels excluded. When compared with previous studies of the ( ) and (300) vibrational levels it is concluded that the (n00) levels of H 3 GeD essentially reveal local mode behavior for n § 3.
