This article discusses experiments demonstrating that the gastrointestinal hormones, gastrin, secretin, and CCK (cholecystokinin), stimulate the growth of the exocrine pancreas. ## Abstract Eleven analogues of porcine gut secretin, in which the Nβterminal histidine has been modified or deleted, were prepared and assayed for their potency in stimulating the exocrine pancreatic flow in various animal species. Deletion of the Ξ±βamino group, or replacement of the imidazole by
