For specific applications, a PTFE filler can be used, with an expanded PTFE covering. For high temperature applications Mica may also be used. LJC claims that this type of gasket offers sealing performance levels characteristic to covered gaskets with far greater elastic recovery. Highly satisfactory sealing conditions are thus obtained with low clamping forces.
