Abstract

A new ring transformation reaction has been studied by treating 6‐ or 5,6‐disubstituted 4‐(methylthio)‐2‐oxo‐2__H__‐pyran‐3‐carbonitriles 2 with hydrazine and methylhydrazine leading to polysubstituted pyrazoles 4, 5, 6.
