## Abstract A novel compact microstrip bandpass filter, based on open‐loop resonators with capacitive loading, is presented in this paper. The new filter has the advantages of compact size together with sharp rejection. Compared with the conventional filters using square open‐loop resonator, the pr

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Capacitively loaded coplanar waveguide (CPW) open‐loop resonators (OLRs) are proposed for maximum miniaturization in uniplanar microwave applications. It is shown that these resonators can be used to achieve a slow‐wave effect without occupying extra surface area. Also, the resonators have a size reduction of about 50% at the same resonance frequency, as compared with the conventional open‐loop resonator, as well as a higher performance of about 25–30%. The reduction in size of these types of resonators, and their performance (mainly the Q factor), can be controlled by the fingers within the OLR. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract This paper proposes a novel structure called a compact coplanar waveguide resonant cell (CCRC), which can exhibit slow‐wave and bandstop characteristics by only one single unit. The same pattern has been adopted in the compact microstrip resonant cell (CMRC) as reported previously and h
## Abstract In this article, a novel type of compact tri‐band filter using stub‐loaded open‐loop ring resonators (OLRRs) is presented. With the open stub loaded, the resonant frequency of the OLRR can be tuned by the tapped location and length of the loaded stub, which makes the OLRR more compact. M
## Abstract In this article, the microstrip band‐reject filters based on inter‐digital capacitance loaded loop resonators (IDCLLRs) are proposed by using meandered microstip‐line, which enhances the coupling to the resonators and provides more structural parameters for flexible design. First, an ID
