Report to the Members of the Movement Disorder Society
The first business meeting of the Movement Disorder Society (MDS) was held on June 5, 1988, in Jerusalem, Israel, just before the 9th International Symposium on Parkinson's Disease. I wish to report the major items approved by the membership.
- The Nominating Committee, composed of Drs. Joseph Jankovic (chairman), Andrew Lees, Ira Shoulson, and Eduardo Tolosa, proposed a slate of officers and members of the International Executive Committee. They excluded themselves from being nominated to these positions. Their list of nominees was unanimously elected. The newly elected ofiicers will serve a three-year term. Half the members of the International Executive Committee will serve for three years, and half for six years.
