โฆ Synopsis
We calculate the quasiparticle current renormalization (effective charge) in the renormalized mean field theory (RMFT) of the large U Hubbard model. We find that the quasiparticle current is significantly renormalized by strong correlations and vanishes at half filling. Our results are in excellent agreement with a recent variational Monte Carlo (VMC) study. We discuss experimental and theoretical implications on the T-dependence of the superfluid density.
