โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

GCโ€rich DNA cis elements are important transcriptional regulatory elements present in the promoter, enhancer and locus control regions of many eukaryotic genes from several species. This review attempts to examine the structure, function and biological significance of GCโ€rich cis โ€regulatory elements and their cognate binding proteins, with a view to understanding their role in regulation of gene expression.

Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling is crucial for the induction and growth of the ear, a sensory organ that involves intimate tissue interactions. ## Abstract Insulin gene expression in rat insulinoma (RIN) cells is extinct in RIN ร— fibroblast hybrids and can reappear upon loss of DNA contributed by the fibroblast parent. (Besnard et al., Exp. Expression of the pea plastocyanin gene (__PetE__) is regulated by light in both pea and transgenic tobacco plants. However, the __PetE__ promoter with the 5โ€ฒ untranslated leader region does not direct lightโ€regulated expression of the GUS reporter gene in transgenic tobacco. This suggested that seq

## Abstract Metallothioneins (MTs) are a group of cysteineโ€rich stress response proteins that scavenge reactive oxygen species and heavy metals. Recently, we have shown that MTโ€I promoter is methylated and suppressed in some solid and liquid tumors and can be robustly activated following treatment
