## Abstract Benzyl‐α‐d~1~‐alcohol was prepared in high isotopic purity by the reduction of benzaldehyde with Raney Cu‐Al alloy in 10% Na~2~CO~3~‐D~2~O solution using ultrasonic irradiation.
