β¦ Synopsis
Redetermination of the Crystal Structure of Khellin, 4,9-dimethoxy-7-methyl-5H-furo(3,2-g) (1) -benzopyran,
C14H1205
The crystals of this compound are monoclinic with space group P2,/n. The unit cell parameters were derived from least squares fit of the angular data for 24 high angle reflections. The lattice parameters are: a = 11.550(2), b = 7.163(1), c = 14.426(2) A, , ! ? = 93.61(1)", z = 4. The structure of this compound was solved by direct methods and refined by full matrix least-squares with anisotropic factors t o R = 0.041. The refinement of the atomic parameters reflects the planarity of the molecule in the solid state. The molecules are connected by hydrogen bonds forming a zigzag chain parallel t o the El001 direction.
