Thrombotic and thromboembolic disorders, in particular, thrombosis complicating life style-related diseases such as malignancies and arterioscleosis resulting from diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity and others, are now, more than ever, the leading causes of morbidity and mortality and become the common medico-social problem with economic consequences in the industrialized and developing countries. The impact of molecular biology and genetics on thrombosis and hemostasis is rapidly growing, and greatly expanded information in this field also provide further extension on regeneration and development of tissues/organs/embryos and bio-regulatory mechanisms in viable tissues against intrinsic and extrinsic stimuli, in addition to cardiovascular diseases.
