Reactions of CF2 carbene, generated by infrared CO1 laser photolysis of CHClF>, with Br2, Cl2 and Hz were investigated using infrared diode laser spectroscopy. Absolute rate constants at about 550 K for the reactions with Br2 and Cl\* were found to be (2.7+0.9)x10-I5 and (3Sf l.3)x10-'5cm3molecule '

โฆ Synopsis
The rnfrxed-laer photol> sisimnss-spectrometric (ILP/MS) technique \ias used to monitor directly in real time the freer.kical and stabis rexrants and products present in the reactive system initiated by the multiphoton-induced dissociation of Cl~~C12 _ It 11 JS found that. contrary to conclusions b.wd on final-products analyses, the CzFa observed as a final product m thi\ s! stem is not formed solely thmuph the reconlbinatmn of :CI'z radicals, but rather C2F4 is produced in a complex writ\ of sccondar) rcxtions.
