โœฆ Synopsis

Reactions of CF2 carbene, generated by infrared CO1 laser photolysis of CHClF>, with Br2, Cl2 and Hz were investigated using infrared diode laser spectroscopy. Absolute rate constants at about 550 K for the reactions with Br2 and Cl* were found to be (2.7+0.9)x10-I5 and (3Sf l.3)x10-'5cm3molecule ' s-', respectively. No reaction was observed with H2.

Infrared diode laser spectroscopy was applied to the detection of CF2 carbene produced by C02-laser-induced dissociation of CHCIF2. Time-resolved spectra of CF2 in several rotation-vibration states were observed. The initial concentration of CF2 was estimated to be 5x IO" molecules cm-' from an anal
