β¦ Synopsis
Conditions for conducting competitive experiments involving slow reactions of perfluomalkyl radicals have been defined. A revised value for the rate constant for hydrogen abstraction from Et3SiI-I is reported [(5.0 5:0.4) x l0 s MJsl], as are the rate constants for addition of the n-C,Fg" radical to CH2--CHCH2CtF9 [ 1.15 + 0. l 1) x 106 M~s ~] and to CH2--CI-ICoU9 [2.6 5: 0.2) x 105 Mls "1] at 25 Β°C.
