β¦ Synopsis
The reaction of CzFs radicals with HCN has been studied over the range of 533473 K using the pyrolysis of pentafluoroethyl iodide as the free-radical source. Arrhenius parameters for the reaction hH C2F:, + HCN -+ C2FsH + CN relative to C4F10 recombination are given by log kH/kc"2 = (5.36 i 0.15) -(57.3 z t l.8)/0 where 0 = 2.303RT kJ/mol and kH/k,'/2 is in cm"/2/mo11/2 . s1l2.
