The purpose of this study 1s the claticatron and extension of mformatlon on the kinetics of reactions m fluuhzed beds and m baffled flunhzed beds, especially the oxulatlon of ammoma m the presence of a catalyst The column used was 4 5 m hameter and 43 m. high The catalyst was manganous-bismuth oxide on alumma spheres of 100-325 mesh The quantity of catalyst used ranged from 2 kg to 6 kg The gas rates ranged from 0 17 ft3/mm to 2 ft3/mm (SCFM) The conlhctmg results obtamed m previous experunents have been partially explamed and they now appear to be m substantial agreement wrtb the theories proposed by previous investigators The results obtained when usmg b&led beds show that the baffles Improve the conversion from 10 per cent to 49 per cent over that obtamed m non-baffled flmdlzed reactors RBsum~-Le but de cette etude est d'etendre et de rendre plus clanes, les mformatlons sur la cmetlque de reactions en hts flm~s avec ou sans &canes, et en partlcuher l'oxydatlon de l'ammoniac en presence dun catalyseur La colonne utlllsee avmt un duvn&tre de 4,5 pouces, et 43 pouces de hauteur Le catalyseur Btalt un oxyde de manganese et de bismuth sur des spheres d'alumme selectionnees par les tamus 106825 madles La quantrte de catalyseur Btalt de l'ordre de 2 a 6 kg Les vltesses de gaz s'echelomnaient de 0,17 fts/mm a 2 ft3/mm Les Awltats aberrants obtenus dans les exp&ences prMdentos ont 6th partlellement exphques et 11s sont mamtenant en assez bon accord avec les th6orres proposbes par les exp&mentateurs p&&dents Les tisultats obtenus lorsque l'on utlhsalt des hts avec &canes montrent que celles-cl am6horent la converslon de 10 B 40% par rapport ir celle obtenue dans des rkacteurs flmdw5s sans chicane. Zusammenfassung-Der Zweck &eser Arbert 1st &e Klarung und Ausweltung der Kenntmsse uber die Kmetlk von Reaktionen m Wnbelschlchten mlt und ohne Embauten, besonders uber &e katalytrsche Oxydatlon von Ammomak Die benutzte Saule hatte emen Durchmesser von 4,5 m und eme Hohe von 43 m Der Katalysator bestand aus Mangan-Wlsmut-Oxyd auf Alummmm-Oxyd-Kugeln (Maschemwelte 100-325) Die Katalysatormenge betrug zwrschen 2 und 6 kg Die durchgesetzten Gasmengen lagen zwlschen 0,17 und 2 ft3/mm (SCFM) Die wldersprechenden Ergebmsse aus fruheren Versuchen konnten zum Ted erklart werden und erschemen nun m Uberemstlmmung mit den Theonen fruherer Autoren. Die m Wlrbelschlchten mu Embauten erhaltenen Ergebmsse zelgen, dass die Embauten den Umsatz von 10 bls 49% stelgern gegenuber dem Umsatz ohne Embauten.
