โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

The status and progress of R&D activities of siliconโ€based thinโ€film solar cells in China are described briefly in this paper, including amorphous Si solar cells and microcrystalline Si film solar cells based on PECVD technology and polycrystalline film solar cells based on RTCVD technology. Especially, the microcrystalline thinโ€film solar cells and the tandem solar cells of amorphous Si with microcrystalline Si have made great progress. The polycrystalline film solar cells have made remarkable achievements as well. (ยฉ 2006 WILEYโ€VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

## Abstract In the quest for lowering the manufacturing cost of silicon solar cells, imec has been working successfully on two crystalline Si โ€˜thinโ€filmโ€™ cell concepts. In a first concept, a 20โ€‰ยตmโ€thin Si solar cell is epitaxially grown on top of a porous Siโ€based Braggโ€type reflector which is elec
