The rate constant for the recombination of trichloromethyl radicals has been measured in the gasphase photozhlori.lation of chloroform at 344.7OK. The observed value is IO9.62mole-Ilsec-I, much lower than the value -u-edicted by transition state calculations using Gorin's model.
