Ageβspecific incidence curves of mouse breast cancer suggest a rateβlimiting step in tumor progression one step prior to overt cancer and the withdrawal prior to middle life of a critical etiological condition (hormonal?) for one or more of the earlier steps in the oncogenic sequence.
