✦ Synopsis

The emission spectra of ArXeH, ArKrD in an argon matrix and KrXeD in a krypton matrix were observed by exciting the raregas impurities with synchrotron radiation. Excitation spectra of KrXeD and KrXeH were measured and compared with the excitation of XeZD. The isotopic effect between hydrogen-and deuterium-doping is seen by different vibrational progressions. With the aid of a simple model, the similarity between these excitations is explained and the emission and excitation energies of the exciplex-hydrides were calculated. Radiative lifetimes were measured for ArKrD (37 ns) and KrXeD ( 17 ns).
