## Abstract A rapid extraction and spectrophotometric determination of palladium with Nβpβchlorophenylbenzohydroxamic acid (NβpβClβBHA) is described. The palladium forms an orange coloured complex with NβpβClβBHA at pH 3.0. It is extracted with chlorobenzene and has a maximum absorbance at 430 nm.
A sensitive and selective method for the extraction and microgram determination of niobium(V) with N-p-chlorophenyl-β£-phenylstyrylacrylohydroxamic acid (PCPPSAHA) is described. The niobium-PCPPSAHA complex has a max of 385 nm and a molar absorptivity of 3.7 Γ 10 4 l mol -1 cm -1 . The system obeys B
