โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A rapid extraction and spectrophotometric determination of palladium with Nโpโchlorophenylbenzohydroxamic acid (NโpโClโBHA) is described. The palladium forms an orange coloured complex with NโpโClโBHA at pH 3.0. It is extracted with chlorobenzene and has a maximum absorbance at 430 nm. Its molar absorption coefficient is 7.0ร10^2^ 1 mol^โ1^ cm^โ1^. The sensitivity of the PdโpโClโBHA complex is enhanced by the addition of dithizone and has a maximum absorbance at 520 nm with a molar absorption coefficient of 3.0ร10^3^ 1 mol^โ1^ cm^โ1^. The effects of pH, solvents, reagent concentration and diverse ions are studied.
