✦ Synopsis


A rapid, efficient, and highly accurate assay by neutronactivation analysis is presented for aluminum content as a function of the aluminum compounds contained in complex antibiotic formulations. The assay requires no chemical isolation or cleanup. The relatively short half-life of "A1 allows rapid analysis, and the technique favors the detection of aluminum over possible interferences by longer lived radionuclides.
