The Raman spectrum of the phenohy radical produced durmg the course of oxidation of phenol by the Ce(IV) Eon was measured by use of a stopped-flolr method and a multichannel detechon method Five Raman bands were observed in the frequency region belo\ 1700 cm-' _ The time dependence of the spectrum \as also foilo\red.
