## Abstract This paper presents an overview on the principles of tip‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS). The technique can be used to record Raman images of carbon nanotubes with high spatial resolution. The high resolution is made possible by local enhancement of the incident and scattered fields.
We present a comparative analysis of the vibrational and structural properties of carbon nanotubes. The first-order Raman spectrum exhibits two lines at 1582 cm -' and at 1350 cm-'. The observed ratio of the integrated intensity of these lines was found to be different as compared to polycrystalline
