✦ Synopsis
Raman spectra of the and series were recorded in order to investigate the inÑuence of Ba
x varying OÈO bond lengths on the Raman-active O-O stretching modes in each series, and to obtain additional information on the samples from this. In the barium peroxide series, the O-O stretching mode in the Raman spectra was found to vary between 843 and 853 cm-1 with a total change in bond length of 2.5 pm, from 149.3 to 146.8 pm. In the strontium peroxide series a wavenumber variation from 865 to 873 cm-1 was observed with a change in bond length from 148.3 to 145.0 pm, a total change of 3.3 pm.

## Abstract A study was made of the amperometric titration of the reaction between barium peroxide and copper(I) and copper(II) oxides. It was shown that it was possible to titrate a solid with a solid in surfactant suspensions. The studies were made in aqueous and acetonitrile suspensions containi
